Things may seem tough at the moment. It may seem like there is no way out, but be calm and courageous and trust in God. Even if the storm is raging around your boat. Remember the master Jesus is inside the boat with you and he will calm the raging storm.
Weeping may endure for the night but joy is coming in the morning. (Psalm 30:5).
God almighty has promised that he will never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5)
David was called the man after God’s own heart, yet he went through so much trouble. After he was anointed king, in place of king Saul, his life became more troubled as Saul sought to kill him.
David began to run from Saul and had to hide in caves and strongholds in the wilderness. (1 Samuel 23:1-29).
He was literally driven from his homeland.
Some people may find themselves in a similar situation like David and blame God for all their problems and question why he ever called or chose them for a particular assignment only to make their lives miserable at the same.
Believe me it is not God making your life miserable but rather the enemy of our souls is to be blamed.
Remember the enemy has only one agenda which is to steal, to kill and to destroy. Do not give him any opportunity. He wants to frustrate God’s plan and God’s children but he will never succeed. Do not allow him to succeed in your life.
We thank God for our Saviour Jesus Christ who has come to give us life in abundance. (John 10:10).
Resist the devil and he must flee. (James 4:7).
Do like David, he did not blame God rather, he worshipped God and during the time when he was trying to escape death in the hands of Saul, he used the opportunity to write so many Psalms which we enjoy reading today.
So David used his times of trouble to seek God more and developed a closer and more intimate relationship with God.
It was a learning experience for him. He spent more time with the Lord and grew from that experience.
He encouraged himself in the Lord and learned obedience, and the grace to forgive was given to him that when he got an opportunity to kill Saul, he refused to do so. Regardless of Saul’s behavior towards him yet he called Saul the Lord’s anointed. (1 Samuel 24:4-7).
David was a worshipper.
We are called to do the same. To worship God in good times and in bad times.
What I have discovered in recent times is that God turns our troubles into the instrument of his message.
God uses the things he allowed us to suffer here on earth as a means of ministering to others. When you have gone through certain experiences, it is easier to advise and help someone else who is going through a similar situation. In so doing we become our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers.
Whatever the case may be in your life please do not give up. The Lord will surely make a way for you. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep worshipping God.
He will surely see you through in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Our great God who started a good work in us will surely complete it in the name of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6).
