“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27).
Finding peace does not, and should not depend on circumstances around you.
It is important to realize that peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ.
We often treat our emotions like weather patterns which we cannot control. But Jesus offers us “peace that surpasses all understanding.” (Philippians 4:7).
Today, reflect on what is currently “troubling” your heart. Is it a valid concern that has turned into a heavy burden? God is not asking you to ignore your feelings, He is asking you to bring them to him.
Take time today and write down one thing that is stealing your joy and peace and “hand it over” to God in prayer.
Trust God because he loves and cares for you.
