Some people define love in different ways according to their own feelings and interpretations but simply put, “Love is an active, sacrificial pursuit of the well-being of others.”
1 John 3:18, says, “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.“
This verse is calling us to see love, not just as a feeling in the heart but also as a movement of the hands or act of service.
It is often said that, “love is an action word.”
It is easier to say we love people, but harder to show it when it costs us something, like time, money, or comfort.
Biblical love (Agape) is defined by what it does, especially when it doesn’t “feel” like doing it. It is selfless, unconditional, and sacrificial love. The exact love shown to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Take time to reflect on someone in your life who needs more than just your “good thoughts” but true and sincere love, an act of service.
What is a tangible way you can serve them?
Perhaps you could do one chore or task for someone else today that you usually expect them to do for themselves.
God bless you.
