Jesus Christ is coming soon at an hour that we do not know, like a thief in the night.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up“.  (2 Peter 3:10 KJV‬‬).

Therefore we are asked to watch and pray and be prepared since we do not know when he will come.

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is“. (Mark‬ ‭13:33‬ ‭KJV‬).

The recent events in our world shows that we are truly at the end time.
Some people say they have been hearing that Jesus is coming soon since they were young and yet he has not come.

What is delaying him is the love he has for us his children. God is patient, kind, and merciful with us that he is giving us ample time to prepare and be ready for the second coming of his Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, so that we can spend eternity with him.
If he had come earlier, how many of us alive would have gone with him?

We need his grace to prepare. We need to dedicate more of our time in prayer. We need to put God first in all things.
We need to be conscious of the fact that of all the numerous things we involve ourselves in here on earth,  what matters is what we do to the glory of God because we love him and appreciate the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary, and not what we do because we want to gain riches and popularity.
The greatest commandment as explained by Jesus Christ is loving God above all things and our neighbours as ourselves.

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these”.  (Mark 12:30-31 KJV‬‬)
So while we prepare we must ensure that we are walking in love, and sharing love with one another.
Our love must be sincere and genuine.

We must not be ignorant of the fact that he could call us home anytime. So the preparation for our home going should be done with urgency, relying absolutely on his grace and mercy.  It is not by power, nor is it by might but by the spirit of the living God.

“Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” (2 Peter 3:14 KJV‬‬).
May we be found in peace doing what God called us to do at the return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
