What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?

The oldest thing I am wearing today, is the whole armor of God.
It is the oldest, yet it is new. I don’t mean to sound poetic but the truth is that, I have been wearing it since I understood it’s concept and importance as a Believer in Jesus Christ, so many years ago and I renew it every morning.

As I get to know the Lord deeper through his holy word, I get more excited about wearing his whole armor every day.


The armor of God is not ordinary.  It equips us for spiritual warfare. Wearing the whole armor of God helps us to stand firm against the wiles of the devil. It helps us become fully equipped against the strategies of the enemy. 

As we are instructed in, Ephesians 6.
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”  (Ephesians 6:11,14-17. NKJV).

The above  scripture passage outlines the important spiritual tools which make up the whole armor; the belt of truth around the waist, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Each piece represents an essential part of our Christian life, equipping us for victory in spiritual battles.
As we put on the  whole armor of God on a daily basis,  our faith is increased and we develop full confidence in God’s protective power.  To God alone be all the glory.
