What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?
“Having it all” could mean different things to different people.
To some it could mean worldly success of wealth and fame.
For me, “having it all” means having Jesus Christ in my life. Because he gives me joy and peace. In him I live and move and have my being. (Acts 17:28).
The question I often ask is, does having everything you want, make you happy?
Do you feel fulfilled?
Does it make you feel that you have arrived?
These questions can be answered according to one’s priority.
In Mark 8:36, Jesus asked the question, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”
Many people have it all in the worldly sense, yet they feel empty within and unhappy. Some feel depressed and suicidal, despite all their wealth.
So, we know that, “Having it all” is not about worldly success, rather, it means living a life which is aligned to the will of God.
Having a good relationship with Jesus Christ, should come first then everything will be added unto us, as he promised in Matthew 6:33,
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Everything else may include, good health, a loving family, a successful career with financial security, and good relationships.
God can give all that and more.
Is it attainable?
Yes, but only through the grace and mercy of almighty God.
All you need do is repent of your sins and ask for God’s forgiveness.
Then start living for him according to his holy Word.
He will give you his peace that passes all understanding, according to Philippians 4:7.
So, “having it all” is not about earthly possessions or achievements, but about the state of your mind and soul.
Having Jesus Christ guarantees, love, joy, peace, contentment, purposeful living, spiritual upliftment and eternal life at the end.
In Jesus Christ, we have everything we need. Without him, we are nothing.
May God help us to put him first in everything in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
