Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established. Proverbs 16:3 NKJV.

To commit, is an act of surrender and trust, acknowledging that God’s wisdom and guidance are far superior to our own. That means, we do not need to work harder to earn God’s favor rather we should invite him and involve him in every aspect of our lives.

So, this Bible verse tells us to to trust God, submit and surrender our plans to him. When we do this, He promises to “establish” our plans, which means He will confirm and cause them to succeed. It’s His divine stamp of approval and support on our efforts.

We should commit anything and everything we are doing, regardless of how big or small to the Lord. It could be an idea, a dream, plan, career, a project you are working on, family, or lifestyle, etc.  Whatever concerns you, concerns the Lord.  He is interested in your affairs. Anything established by God is guaranteed to succeed.

Jeremiah 17:7, says,  “Blessed  is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.

The issue most of the time is, how ready are we to commit everything into God’s hands? Do we really trust God?

Some years ago a course mate told me while discussing with him about Jesus Christ and salvation, that he finds it difficult to give too much power to God to run his life. He did not stop there but he added,  if only God will appear to him as he did to Saul on his way to Damascus, then he would be willing to commit everything into his hands. We hand a long drawn conversation and at the end I got a ministration that his ego was speaking.

God is the author of all things. The creator of all things, including the devil. Whatever power we think we possess is given by him. The very air we breathe in, is from him. The moment God stops the air from flowing into our nostrils down into our lungs, that will be the end of life. So what power do we have to brag about? What power is too much to give to God?

He has given us free will and wisdom to make the right choices.  It is left to us to accept him and follow him, or reject him. We must bear in mind that every choice we make, whether good or bad,  has a consequence.

Committing everything into God’s hands, does not mean that he is going to push us left and right, all he requires is our obedience and trust in him and he will make all things great.

When we commit everything into God’s hands, we must trust him. Some people may say they have committed everything to God and yet every few minutes they want to know what God is doing with what they said they have surrendered to him. Because our human nature likes quick fix and immediate results.  So they expect God to respond quickly with the solution. But that is not how God works. He works at a different pace and with precision. We must wait on God’s response pa

God does not make mistakes.  He knows the end from the very beginning and only his counsel shall stand, and he will always do as he pleases. ( Isaiah 46:10).

So, he knows what is good for us.  It may not be what we want for ourselves but God knows the best.  Nobody can stop God or prevent him from doing what he wants to do.

His plans for us are for good and not for evil,  as he said in Jeremiah 29:11.Some people make plans and set a timeline, and expect God to approve it. They may desire rapid implementation and growth, without having enough patience to wait on God’s timing. The only plans that will work are those in line with the will and purpose of God.

In my experience, impatience is a recipe for disaster. So, it is absolutely necessary to commit our work to the Lord,  wait on him patiently and he will surely prosper it.

Ask God for the grace to surrender your plans completely to him and follow his plan patiently. When we follow God’s plan and listen attentively to his directions,  and obey  his words, every of our efforts will be totally aligned to his will and our success is guaranteed. At the end, we will return all the glory to God.

Praise be to his holy name.
